SoundTools CRFFFX Overview
The CAT Rack FX from SoundTools is a 12 female XLR rack unit with main and parallel etherCON connectors capable of receiving up to 12 lines of balanced analog audio down 3 shielded Cat 5/6/7 cables. It can be used to carry balanced analog audio, AES/EBU, DMX, and Clear-Com signals hundreds of feet away and supports 48V phantom power.
The CAT Rack FX is fully passive and can be input directly into analog or digital consoles. In addition, multiple CAT Racks can be daisy chained to allow the same channels to be dropped in multiple locations.
Furthermore, the CAT Rack extension system consists of a male XLR sender and a female XLR receiving unit (both sold separately). This allows you to send twelve XLR audio signals thru a Cat 5/6/7 cable hundreds of feet away and convert it back to the twelve XLR balanced analog audio, AES/EBU, DMX, and Clear-Com signals.
